The Big Sandy CDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of Big Sandy, Texas. Our mission is to strengthen the physical, social, and economic fabric of the community by being a catalyst for sustainable development and community building. BSCDC draws on the strengths of the community to empower residents and promote development. Goals: Economic Development - BSCDC seeks to further local business development in order to create jobs and community wealth. We assist start-up and existing businesses, maintain an inventory of available property, and help local entrepreneurs identify and obtain services and funds to help their businesses grow. Real Estate Development - BSCDC brings life to abandoned buildings and property by collaborating with city, state, & federal agencies on redevelopment. Neighborhood Planning - Working closely with the city and community, BSCDC can assists residents and businesses in creating plans that help guide future development. These plans ultimately serve as vehicles for collaboration between the community, the city, and developers as well as leverage funding for these projects. |
